REMINDER – THERE IS NO GENERAL MEETING IN MAY 2025
GUEST SPEAKERS: Our guest speaker for June is Sue Neaton, a dedicated volunteer with
Capricorn Rescue for over 10 years. She’ll share insights into the vital work of Cap Rescue, its history, and the strong partnership between the service and our community.
DEVELOPING DIGITAL SKILLS: There will be a 2 day Workshop on creating a Photo Book on Monday 19th May and Monday 16th June, 10am till 12 noon at Rockhampton Golf Club (meeting
room). Choose your favourite photos to create a personalised photo book of memories using the Snapfish website/app. The photobooks are proudly manufactured in Australia. You’ll learn how to upload photos, edit photos, design the layout and decorate, and order and pay for your creation which will be delivered to your door by Australia Post. Cost: Workshop $Nil. GARDEN LOVERS: The Garden Lovers group will be meeting on Friday, 30th May at 9.30am at the Japanese Gardens. Please bring morning tea to share. Contact Terry, phone 0427 689 312.

Garden Lovers is a large and popular group, so we wouldn’t like to see this group disbanded. Surely someone can spare the time to be coordinator.
HISTORY GROUP: The next meeting of the U3A History Group will be on Monday 19th May at Oaktree, Glenmore Road, Park Avenue, starting at 2pm. The subject will be Breweries and Soft Drink Factories in early Rockhampton. Contact Ann, phone 0400 766 112.
ARMCHAIR TRAVEL: The next meeting will be on Friday, 16 May at Athelstane Bowls Club, Ward Street. The topic will be ‘Ireland and Italy”, presented by Kathleen Winter. Contact Judy, phone 0457 712 978.
MONTHLY LUNCH: The May Monthly Lunch will be held on Monday 12th May at Cafe 63 in the Keppel Bay Plaza (near Coles), James Street, Yeppoon. Time 12 midday. RSVP to Robyn via Facebook or text/phone 0438 284 871.
SOCIAL OUTINGS: On Wednesday 14th May starting at 10.00am there will be a conducted walk around the historic Southside Cemetery. Cost for the walk is $15. Meet at entrance on Prospect Road (the road opposite Aldi). Lunch will be available at Allenstown Hotel afterwards.
On Friday 23rd May 2025 at 9.30am there will be a Murder Mystery Morning at the Diggers Memorial Bowls Club. Cost for Hall Hire and Morning tea is $15.00. Contact Bev, phone 0410 341 843.
