VOLUNTEERING

The success of U3A Rockhampton and District Inc. would not be possible without the continued support of its volunteers. Volunteering is the backbone to the success of all our functions, we have monthly General Meetings, Committee Meetings and there are 23 Activity Groups, we have regular social events throughout the year and seminars that are solely coordinated by our members, providing diversity in educational and social interests.

All activities are managed by volunteers as Committee Members, Activity Coordinators, and the numerous members that provide assistance in various capacities to collaborate with the coordinators.

Volunteering your skills and time makes a difference to the success of our association it may lead you to the opportunities to develop skills that you may have not experienced; Connects you with other members and expands social circles and building relationships of similar interests. Gain valuable experience while supporting an activity that you may have significant skills or hobbies that you may care about or may wish to introduce into our curriculum.

Our Volunteering standards meet best practice and as a volunteer you have the right to:

  • a clearly written role description
  • volunteer insurance
  • be supported by fellow members in your role.
